It has recently come to my attention...

That myspace is garbage. Thanks both to everyone who insisted on telling me so, and from the fact that it doesn't ever work. I got sick both of not having a thousand friends like everyone else, and every other page doesn't want to load, just to be a pain.
I got sunburned yesterday when we spent the whole day on the beach swimming and playing volleyball with all the foreigners. It was still very hot, but the beach lacked the thousands of Koreans that swarmed the sands during the month of August. There was hardly anyone on the beach other than us. We had two nets up so we could play simultaneously, and by late afternoon a crowd of Koreans had gathered along the board walk to watch. We were celebrating kiwi Kelly's birthday and the departure of Dara, back home to Vancouver. As I sat roasting in the afternoon sun, I thought about my summer so far, and started feeling a little homesick, thinking of all the things and people I left. I'm glad Tim is coming soon, I hope he makes it while the weather is still warm, he loves his drunken volleyball.
I thought of the conversation Shawn, Spence and I had in a cab the night before about the lives people left to come here, I recalled what Spence had said about how people are here mostly for two reasons, the first being that they are really excited and just want to be in Korea, and the other (also a very popular reason) is that they are running from something. Alot of people came here after breaking off long-term relationships and engagements, one guy was a month away from the altar, before dropping everything and coming here. All these people running away from their lives, wanting to change I started to wonder whether I was running away from somewhere, or to somewhere. For awhile it was very touch and go, but it is starting to look as though this whole gamble may pay some dividends. I should go shower and get ready for work. Wish me luck.

news.

I won't be on MSN for the next little while as I am back in Busan and will be living on my own soon. I have no computer here, but I will be able to check my email fairly often. I have a job interview today, technically I already skipped out on one in favour of better hours. If anyone is actually reading this I should be back online in a month or so. Tim if you read this, you can crash with me if you want to fly over before you get a job, and Shawn said you can stay here too. Its a good idea, but like I said, I would understand if you don't want to. At the risk of losing whomever few people checking this site, I won't be adding pictures to this site for quite sometime, but as soon as I get a computer I will be back up and rolling. I will however still be updating with stories of my adventures every so often.

Wish me luck on finding work,
Mark
