Some Touristy photos from Seoul

Pig faces in a bowl, they smelled so terrible that as we walked by the first time, I gagged. We walked by a second time to get the picture.
This and the pictures below are from Insadong, a nice neighbourhood for shopping, sightseeing and hanging out. There was sort of a parade/show/old time festival happening while we were there, that's why there are so many people dressed in colourful clothes.

These are some of the crowded rooftops of Seoul, near Itaewon where Catriona lives.
More of Insadong, they close down the streets to cars on the weekends so you can just wander.
Gyeonbokgung, the palace of Shining Happiness.

There was this cool martial arts display/contest going on, I couldn't get close enough to take good pictures, but I have a couple of decent videos on my camera. The red team smoked the blue team.

Tapgol park, near Insadong. It was filled with plaques and statues for the freedom fighters who opposed the harsh Japanese rule. There was also a 14th century tower closed in glass, and a giant slab.

'Wash me' in Korean?
The narrow streets, there were restaurants on this street, it wasn't an alley or anything.

A building in Dongdaemun (I think), it was probably just a front for something shady.
The hill you have to walk up to get to Catriona's apartment. This photo doesn't do it justice. Yes those are cars at the top of the hill, yes they do drive up and down this hill.

The hill of death from another angle.

Dongdaemun herself; the great east gate of the old Seoul fortress.
